The Plant that will not Die

I have never been very good with plants. I love them but they don't seem to last long for me. Lately I have been building some succulent plants out of glass. I don't even have to water them. I wanted something to give my Granddaughter to take to college. It's a cute little red flower to put on her desk in her dorm room. I also wanted to give her Mom and Dad a gift of congratulations for getting all their children through school. It's a big deal and they did a great job. I made a glass succulent in a glass planter. No water, no soil, no dried leaves, just green all the time.

I started with a planter box. I wanted there to be a raised bottom so I could put a battery lit candle underneath.

The top box is filled with clear glass globs and marbles to let the light filter up to the "plant".

The leaves remind me of an Aloe Vera plant. You can decide what kind of plant it is. When the leaves are all soldered together I can poke them into the bed of marbles as if they are growing there.

With the artificial candle on, it can serve as a night light.

There are many creative ways to use glass. This is a project I will be perfecting to make it easier to build and in a more efficient way. There is always more to learn.

It's Zion's Bank 2019 Spring Art Show Time

For the past few years we have been involved in the Zion's Bank Spring Art Show. It is a soiree hosted by the Financial department of Zion's bank. There are 5 floors of art, music and delicious Hors d-oeuvres. This year 58 artists are displaying their work. We are excited to be a part of this unique event. Set a date on your calendar for May 17th 2019 from 6 to 9 pm. The bank is located at 180 N. University Avenue, Provo, UT. They are asking that guests be 8 years of age and older so they can appreciate the evening.
We have been preparing for a few months to show you some new stained glass windows and a few mosaics. I even made some fun little succulent plants out of glass for you.
Here are some photos of shows from past years to whet your whistle. We hope you will stop by our booth to say "Hi". I would tell you what floor we will be on but we won't know until we get there.

Surprise your Mom

Mothers day is coming up soon. I always get garden plants and flowers. Yes, I choose my own gifts. It's part of the fun to roam around the garden store.  If your Mom hasn't given you any hints, here are some ideas.

These garden markers are clear glass with cute fused veggies. They are pretty sturdy but I would bring them in if there is a late Spring hail storm. It has happened. A set of four is $30.00.

These fused pendants would be a unique gift for the lovely lady who gave you life. Be prepared for tears.

She would love this set of greeting cards from my series Women of Faith which are stained glass windows. The cards are printed on lovely linen paper that show the colors of the glass. They are $12.50 for 6 cards and envelopes.

I have star sun catchers that would look so nice in the kitchen window. She would think of you every time she looks outside.

If you are still stumped, send me a message and we can come up with the perfect gift.

Happy Mother's Day

FALL IN

I was thinking of the different ways we use the word "Fall"; In the military "Fall In" is to take your place in for...
